Johannesburg – a famous South African actor and his two alleged accomplices have been arrested for numerous crimes, including the imposition of police officers and abductions.
According to spokesman Hawks, Captain Ndivhuwo Mulamu The suspects, aged between 27 and 38, were arrested during Operation Hawks at South Gate Mall, south of Johannesburg, on Friday morning.
Mulamu added that during the arrest, the suspects allegedly attempted to extort money from businessmen when they were arrested.
"It is alleged that one of the suspects contacted a businessman in June and claimed that his partner had been sent by him. They met at a joint place in Isanda, but on arrival, he was under pressure to drive from suspicion to a house in Klopperpark, east of Johannesburg , "He told Mulam.
"Upon their arrival (at home), the complainant stated that the suspect had taken out diamonds and put them on the table and that two other suspects who were introduced as police officers joined them from the swimsuit, from the businessman to suppress the alleged illegal employment with diamonds, "she added.
The complainant had money in the wallet allegedly taken, but then asked to look at the bank balance of the complainant on his mobile phone.
According to Mulamu, the suspects took him to Kempton Park and Fourways and allegedly forced him to withdraw $ 31,000 from his bank account. The victim was then released.
"The trial of a businessman was reported on Wednesday by a Hawks Hacking Corruption Research Team, and on Friday, the team managed to set off a trip to South Gate Mall where the balance would be paid," she said.
"One of the suspects jumped into the vehicle of the complainant to collect the money and was arrested after the exchange," she added.
Malamu said the two other suspects, who were in two separate vehicles, tried to escape after witnessing the arrest, but were arrested after being shot near the scene of the crime.
The suspects will appear at the Booysense Magistrates Court for charges of impinging police officers, extortion, theft, abduction, corruption, defeat at the end of justice and aiding the crime on Monday, July 15.
