Prague Slavia footballers will play with Cluj for the Champions League. The Romanian team won today's dramatic retaliation at Celtic Glasgow Stadium by a score of 4: 3 and went into the last round after a 1-1 draw. French midfielder Billel Omrani scored two goals.
The Czech champion will play his first match in Cluj-Napoca on Tuesday, August 20, in Cluj-Napoca. Slavia played the main stage of the prestigious competition only in 2007, when she went through Ajax Amsterdam in the final round. Cluj-Napoca will push for fourth participation in the group and first from 2012.
Kluj opened the score in the match, but after the break he had to tighten. Celtic reversed the score with two goals, but the dramatic conclusion was his own. The Omrani equalized with a penalty in the 74th minute, followed by a home run by Ryan Christie again, but they enjoyed it until the 80th minute when the Omrani struck for the second time. The sliders, which would have been enough to draw 2: 2, were then sealed in the George Tucudean lineup.
Bruges will also play for a place in the regular season of the prestigious competition, aided by former Slavia defender Simon Deli. The Belgian national team returned to the Dynama Kiev stadium 3: 3 and after a 1-0 victory from the home game went to the final preliminary.
Deli, who won two titles with Slavia and recently moved to Belgium for an estimated 2.5 million euros, made it 1: 1 in the 38th minute and hit a new place for the first time. The home side had two more leads, but Bruges could always make the comparison – last time in the fifth minute. In addition, both teams finished at ten.
Also the Ajax semifinalist last year, who lost 0-0 in home retaliation with PAOK Thessaloniki but then reversed the score and advanced to the fourth preliminary after a 3-2 victory. The Dutch team, who played 2-2 in their first match in Greece, will compete with APOEL Nicosia for the group spot.
The surprising end is Porto, who won 1-0 in the first match against Krasnodar, but the retaliation of the home team failed. He lost to the Russian opponent after halftime 0: 3 and eventually dropped after losing 2: 3. The Portuguese team will miss the Champions League for the first time since 2011.
