Flipkart's "Video" competing with Amazon in India begins to appear on Android – Technology News, Firstpost



Flipkart has announced that it is working on it releasing its video streaming service in the coming months. And it looks like it’s officially starting to bring service starting with Android. The "Video" section along with the "Ideas" section appeared in the Android app.

As reported Gadgets 360, the latest Flipkart app on Android (version 6.17) has a new Video and Ideas section in the left sidebar. You can access it by tapping on the burger menu or the three dash icon in the upper left corner of the app.

There is currently a lot of content in the video section from creators including Arre, Dice Media, TVF and Voot according to the report. For starters, the app asks users to select at least three videos and will be given a curated list of movie and TV content. The playback interface is similar to other popular OTT services, but there is no way to download videos to watch them offline.

Flipkart has also launched the "Ideas" section. which will serve customers as a tool for discovering new products. Users must select at least five interests to start curating. After that, the app will make some recommendations in the form of pictures, GIFs, videos, stories, quizzes and surveys.
