When Apple first introduced its live photo function, it did not take advantage of many of the features inherent in a camera that captures a few seconds around the central image.

Various applications came out that enabled users to display a moving image as a GIF. Some third-party applications, such as GIPHY, allow you to create GIFs with live photos and multiple options.

But now iPhone allows you to convert live photos to mobile GIFs in just a few short steps, without having to download some applications.

How to Convert a Live Photo to a GIF on an iPhone

1. Open Photos on your iPhone.

2. Touch the live image you want to convert to GIF.

3. Touch and hold the bottom of the photo.

4. Move your finger up to display the moving image menu (Live, Loop, Bounce, Long Exposure)

You can turn every live photo into a GIF.

You can alternate on "Bounce" so that frame frames move forward and back instead of starting at the beginning of the series of images.
