They had pain in the jaw and neck
In her dissertation, Ewa Lampa was followed by 176 people who suffered from a whiplashtraum and a control group of 116 people. Within a month of the accident, everyone was questioned with questions about pain and disturbances in the jaw and neck area, other physical and mental symptoms, and severe tests.
About a third of patients with stomach had pain in the jaw and neck area. It was significantly higher than in the control group. There was a link between intensity of jaw / neck pain and other bodily symptoms, as well as signs of depression. In comparison with the control group, those who suffered from pain also had a lower gum capacity that was related to the severity of door problems.
Trouble stays after two years
Subsequently, after two years of the same test and questionnaire, jaw pain remained for most patients who had an inconvenience at the first examination.
